Differences Between 2019 Dodge Challenger & 2019 Chevrolet Camaro

Serving Cincinnati, OH, Columbus, OH, and Springfield, OH

When it comes to muscle cars, Dodge and Chevrolet have a long history of racing success. Whether you call them muscle cars, or you call them sports cars, the Challenger and Camaro are designed specifically for people who have a passion for high performance. Dodge is well-known for its powerful HEMI engine, and Ford is admired for its short-stroking pistons. Both vehicle produce extraordinary results, but let's see which of these two automobiles will come out on top.

Performance

The 2019 Dodge Challenger has otherworldly power, and it's a direct-descendent of racing lineage. To start things off, the 2019 version of this beast will offer four-distinct engines. The least powerful engine is the 5.7-liter HEMI V8 that produces up to 375 horsepower. The most powerful engine is a supercharged 6.2-liter V8 HEMI that comes from the HellCat trim. This phenomenal engine produces a whopping 797 horsepower. Depending on the trim, consumers will have access to four different braking systems. The vehicle's all-speed traction control provides enormous amounts of traction. Down-force keeps the vehicle stuck to the ground via its rear-wheel drive design. The Challenger comes with a six-speed manual transmission, an eight-speed automatic transmission and an electronic shifter.

The 2019 Chevrolet Camaro has four different engines, including a 2.0-liter V6 that produces 275 horsepower, and a more powerful 6.2-liter V8 engine that punches out 675 horsepower. The more powerful ZL1 offers a six-speed manual transmission as well as a 10-speed automatic transmission. This vehicle also has Active Rev Matching and a paddle shifter. Chevrolet heavily utilizes direct injection and variable-valve timing. The 2019 Camaro seems to put the power to the ground very evenly, and its engines come with a lot of racing components, but it lacks the all-out horsepower of the Challenger.

Exterior

The new Dodge Challenger has a modern appearance, but you can definitely see its classic silhouette. This car looks mean, especially with those etched-in hood scoops. This vehicle has an athletic stance, the LEDs are split-leveled, and its smooth lines never break. There are a number of racing stripes that can be added, and the Challenger comes in many bold colors.

The new Chevrolet Camaro has a unique silhouette thanks to its side grooves and razor-sharp lines. Some models have the Chevy Bowtie in the grille while others have the emblem on a bar that stretches across the front grille. Chevrolet offers multiple spoiler options for personalization. The LEDs look nice, but they could be a bit larger for better aesthetics.

Technology

The 2019 Challenger, and the 2019 Camaro are both loaded with technological features. From its advanced Uconnect system to its Android Auto technology, Dodge delivers on smart technology. The Camaro provide entertainment technology, including a Bose audio system, SiriusXM radio and a heated steering wheel.
