Differences Between 2019 Jeep Cherokee & 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee
Serving Springfield, OH, Fort Thomas, KY, and Lawrenceburg, IN
The 2019 Jeep Cherokee and 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee come from a respectable pedigree that's defined by the Trail Rated label. Available with sophisticated 4x4 drive systems, these durable SUVs have tremendous off-road attributes. The Cherokee and Grand Cherokee also boast dozens of safety features that provide all-around protection on any road or trail.
Off-Road Performance
Just like in previous years, the 2019 Jeep Cherokee retains a 4x4 drive system with the Active Drive I or Active Drive II technology. Both drivetrain configurations come with a rear axle that disconnects on demand. If you're thinking about navigating rocky landscapes, get the Active Drive Lock system for superb performance. The 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee's 4x4 drive is available with the Quadra-Trac and Quadra-Drive II. Both Jeep models overcome harsh conditions thanks to the Selec-Terrain Traction Management. This intelligent module makes important mechanical adjustments that optimize handling on various surfaces. Offering five different ground clearance heights, an air suspension system with the Quadra-Lift label is installed in the 2018 Grand Cherokee. Both SUVs also have class-leading crawl ratios and large approach angles that are tuned for off-road performance.

Powertrain
The 2019 Jeep Cherokee's 2.0 L turbo engine produces 270 horsepower and 295 pound-feet of torque. You can tow up to 4,000 pounds with this compact engine block. This model is also available with the 2.4 L Tigershark and 3.2 L Pentastar engines, which have a maximum towing rating of 2,000 pounds. A nine-speed automatic transmission system works with all three engines in the Cherokee. The 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee could run on a 6.2 L supercharged V8 engine that whips out an astonishing 707 hp. This HEMI engine also delivers best-in-class 645 lb-ft of torque. Additionally, the HEMI badge appears on the Grand Cherokee's 5.7 L and 6.4 L engines, which have a V8 design. Using fuel-saving technology, the 3.6 L Pentastar engine is best suitable for normal driving. For its relatively lightweight design, this V6 powertrain is strong enough to tow 6,200 pounds. Each HEMI engine in this 2018 Jeep has a towing capacity of 7,200 pounds.

Safety
The Forward Collision Warning offers reliable accident-avoidance guidance in the 2019 Cherokee and 2018 Grand Cherokee. After issuing the appropriate alerts, this system will turn on the Active Braking. Both Jeep models have the Lane Departure Warning that's powered by LaneSense. The Blind Spot Monitoring checks your blind zones for other vehicles or motorcycles. As soon as you select the reverse gear, the Rear Cross Path Detection and rear view camera scan the surroundings. The ParkView technology also has the Trailer View with dashed lines that provide extra guidance. Connected to sensors in the front and rear bumpers, the ParkSense system helps you make good judgement when pulling into or out of a parking spot.
