Differences Between 2018 RAM 1500 & 2018 Ford F-150
Serving Springfield, OH, Fort Thomas, KY, and Lawrenceburg, IN
Offering two gasoline engines and a diesel engine, the 2018 RAM 1500 is a light-duty pickup truck. The 2018 Ford F-150 is a pickup truck that offers several turbocharged and naturally aspirated engines that run on gas. Rolling on the TorqueFlite automatic transmission and height-adjustable air suspension system, the RAM 1500 withstands tough conditions. Additionally, this premium RAM truck boasts an 8.4-inch infotainment system with the next-generation Uconnect 4C NAV technology.
Powertrain
Running on the Pentastar technology, the 2018 RAM 1500's 3.6 L engine generates 305 horsepower. Variable valve timing (VVT) optimizes the performance of this classic V6 engine. You won't get more than 290 hp from the 2018 Ford F-150's naturally aspirated V6 engine that operates on the Ti-VCT mechanism. Engineered to reduce emissions and maximize output, the 3.0 L EcoDiesel engine is optional in the RAM 1500. This signature diesel engine unleashes up to 420 pound-feet of torque. You can also enjoy a driving range of just more than 700 miles with the EcoDiesel engine. Capable of producing 395 hp and 410 lb-ft, a 5.7 L V8 engine with the HEMI technology is also available for this RAM pickup truck. The 2018 F-150's 2.7 L EcoBoost and 3.5 L EcoBoost engines can't match the hp ratings of the HEMI powertrain.

Handling
Designed to withstand extreme conditions, the TorqueFlite automatic transmission system is standard in the 2018 RAM 1500. The temperatures of the transmission fluids are controlled by the sophisticated Thermal Management technology. You just need to turn the rotary E-Shift to change gears in this eight-speed transmission. Some of the 2018 Ford F-150 models roll on a standard automatic transmission that only has six gear ratios. The other F-150 trims are equipped with a 10-speed automatic transmission, which lacks the thermal technology of the TorqueFlite assembly. Considered a class-exclusive installation, the RAM 1500's air suspension system has the Four-Corner Active Level label. You can manually adjust the air-pressurized springs to one of five heights. Several sensors also provide automatic input based on the vehicle's speed, weather and road conditions. A skid plate for the transfer case and suspension components is also installed in this durable RAM pickup truck.

Infotainment System
The digital command center in the 2018 RAM 1500 runs on the Uconnect 4C NAV platform. In addition to having GPS-linked navigation technology, this 8.4-inch infotainment system comes with multi-year subscriptions to Travel Link and Traffic by SiriusXM. You also get a 12-month subscription to SiriusXM Guardian, which includes various security features. Powered by the Alpine technology, the premium sound system in this RAM truck has nine speakers. HD Radio, SiriusXM, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto work well with this signature audio system. The SYNC infotainment system in the 2018 Ford F-150 also has these features and GPS navigation. However, the largest display for this digital console measures only 8.0 inches.
