The 2019 Jeep Cherokee retains the 2.4L, four-cylinder engine that's standard on the current model. It's rated at 184 horsepower and is mated to a nine-speed automatic transmission, something a bit unusual for a small crossover. The optional 3.2L V6 produces 271 horsepower and 239 lb-ft of torque. The uplevel trims are offered with both front- and all-wheel drive. New for 2019 is the option of a turbocharged, 2.0L engine that makes 270 horsepower. It's a bit more fuel-efficient than the V6. The transmission has been given a few software updates that will result in better drivability whichever engine is chosen. All in all, the 2019 Cherokee offers a comfortable ride despite its off-road design.

Interior and Features

Standard on all 2019 Jeep Cherokee trims is a folding front passenger seat, 60/40-split folding rear seatbacks, air conditioning, Bluetooth, a rearview camera, and a USB charge-only port.
