The base power source for the Wrangler JK is a familiar 3.6-liter, Pentastar V6 engine. It develops a stout 285 horsepower and 260 pound-feet of torque. A lighter design enables the new Wrangler JK to feel especially responsive. To further maximize the Wrangler's performance, Jeep offers a new eight-speed automatic transmission. Drivers who prefer to change their own gears can stick with the standard six-speed manual transmission. If you want to experience a greater blend of performance and efficiency, opt for the new turbocharged four-cylinder engine. Although a tough-nosed 4WD system comes standard throughout the lineup, a heavy-duty Dana front axle and rock rails help make the Rubicon model an especially skilled off-road machine.
Interior and Features
Everyone can take advantage of the Wrangler JK's roomier cabin. While the two-door version promises to offer plenty of comfort, families will prefer the four-door Unlimited model. Like its predecessors, the new Wrangler JK boasts class-exclusive features such as removable doors and a fold-down windshield. You'll also enjoy the SUV's high-tech components.
